Arati Pandit | Educational Planner
With over 30 years of experience in progressive education, Arati has dedicated her career to shaping meaningful, student-centered learning environments. Beginning as a special education teacher, she developed a deep commitment to inclusive practices and individualized instruction that supports every learner’s growth and potential.
Over the years, Arati has served in key leadership roles, including Learning Specialist, Director of Admissions, Assistant Head of School and Director, guiding school communities through thoughtful growth and innovation. Her leadership is grounded in a strong belief that schools thrive when cultures of thinking, inquiry, and collaboration are intentionally cultivated.
As Educational Planner at Vaysen Studio, Arati views this partnership between educators and architects as a uniquely powerful opportunity to deepen understanding and widen perspective on both sides. She brings fluency in the languages of pedagogy and design, helping translate educational vision into spatial reality. By bridging these disciplines, she supports architects in becoming more intentional and responsive designers for schools, teachers, and children.
Arati currently serves on two boards in New Haven, Connecticut, as both a trustee and an advisory member. She is a trustee of Boundless Literacy, an organization dedicated to providing daily reading instruction to dyslexic children in underserved schools. She also serves as an advisory board member for Lost in New Haven, an educational museum committed to making the history of New Haven visible and accessible to the public.
